Ultrasound Behavior health is an important component to having a happy pet, allowing them to live their best lives and making the most of your relationship with them. Many cats and dogs suffer from fear, anxiety, phobias, stress and aggression. These diseases can be exacerbated by underlying medical conditions and often need an in depth evaluation to determine the underlying cause and how to address the problem. Durango Animal Hospital offers behavior consultations with Dr. Heather Johnson. The consultation is one hour and includes the following:
  • A review of your Pet’s past & present history
  • Exploring your Pet’s relationships among family members (pet-and-people)
  • Discussing medical history
  • Investigating the behavior profile.
  • Addressing Pet-Parents goals and lifestyle.
Following the initial behavior discovery, Dr. Johnson will discuss your pet’s diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options.
All treatment plans are created with kindness and compassion, using a force-free and fear-free approach. The treatment plan, created with the pet-parent, includes:
  • Safety and Behavior Management
  • Behavior modification, enrichment and education
  • Medication therapy recommendations (if appropriate).
Behavior is dynamic and each treatment plan is unique, just like you and your Pet. Together, a customized plan is created that works best for you and your family.
